Shira and Jake will always have a little piece of my heart. I connected with Shira and her AMAZING mother right off the bat, and thoroughly enjoyed working with them through the whole planning process. There were so many unique details incorporated into this dusty blue and lavender wedding, and they really emphasized who Shira and Jake are as a couple. Shira and Jake had a Jewish ceremony which meant there was a Ketubah (marriage contract) signing prior to the traditional ceremony with all of their guests. Let me just tell you, that Ketubah was so intricate and BEAUTIFUL (which made me very nervous to wrap up afterwards, but all was well). Also in line with Jewish traditions were yarmulkes worn by male guests, the ceremony taking place under a chuppah, the breaking of the glass ("Mazel tov!"), and the classic dance called the “hora” during the reception (if you don’t know what I’m talking about, I encourage you to Google it immediately). I thoroughly enjoyed all of these Jewish traditions, but I also loved how they made their reception special. Shira and Jake have traveled A LOT—so much so that instead of table numbers, they had photos of places they have traveled together. This unexpected detail also allowed for guests to see photos of the couple at destinations all around the world. The tables also had alternating dusty blue and lavender napkins, which was also a cool way to switch things up (and it also looked amazing). Shira and Jake were so happy and in love the whole night (and their story gives singles on the “OK Cupid” dating app some hope). I absolutely LOVED working with this family, and I am so excited that they are expecting a little Dodger’s fan in November 2019!
